Anualmente, a Apple divulga uma lista com os melhores álbuns, músicas e destaques de suas playlists dentro de sua rede de streammings. Para surpresa de todos, o rapper Drake esteve em primeiro lugar nas três categorias por conta do hit “One Dance” com Wizkid e Kyla e com seu álbum “Views”. Assim o rapper desbancou Rihanna, Adele, Frank Ocean, The Weeknd e vários outros artistas que bombaram neste ano, inclusive nas premiações como Grammy, Billboard, entre outros.
Como todas as premiações ou listagens de melhores músicas de 2016, pode-se ver uma grande quantidade de artistas do Rap e do Hip-Hop na lista, o que indica que realmente são os estilos que mais tem bombado hoje, é o setor musical que mais movimenta os EUA hoje em dia.
Chama a atenção a ausência de Beyoncé da lista, o que talvez é decorrente de sua maior associação com o streamming da Tidal, controlada por seu marido Jay Z.
